Law of Divine Humanity: Natural Law

Law of Divine Humanity: Natural Law

“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts….” (Jeremiah 31.33)

Natural law is based on a belief in the inherent natural altruistic law of God, the Divine Absolute, that is found within each person. This is the source of our ability as a Divine Human Being to express forgiveness, compassion and unconditional love to self and to others. Natural law flows from the divinity within each individual but lies dormant until awakened by each person.

Furthermore, Natural Law refers to the underlying order in Nature and human behavior considered to be in accord with that order. Ethically, it means “right way of living” or “proper conduct.” Natural Law includes the universal, natural and dynamic order that regulates the universe. Natural Law is not limited to the material seen universe but includes the unseen universe, which blends with the material seen world. It includes the internal laws (natural laws) of the universe. It also informs the internal laws (nature laws) which govern the conduct of sentient beings.

This natural law discovered within each of us may be awakened by what I call participation mystique.

Participation Mystique

Since the dawn of time, the purpose of life, religion, and spirituality was to be centered in participation mystique; not in faith or belief in a sacred book. Participation mystique is a “knowing” of the things of life and their inherent mysteries through the experience of the mundane as well as the spiritual. Divine Humanity’s emphasis is on a direct spiritual/religious experience with the totality of body-heart-mind and not just the intellect. It is an immersion in the mysteries of nature and the seeking of knowledge through mystical participation. This doing or action may be as simple as sitting alone under a tree and listening to the sounds of nature and our own heart or as complex as dawn bathing in a stream.[i] This participation mystique will result in a transformation of consciousness.

Transformation through a Green Philosophy

A Green Philosophy is an egalitarian philosophy of humanity’s partnership with the seen and unseen things of the earth and nature—a green philosophy. Humans are part of nature, not at the center of nature. Furthermore, society has lost many of the values treasured by past indigenous cultures, such as a partnership with nature, truth telling, and elder/ancestor respect and honor. We need to discover meaning in life—not accumulate money and material things. The equality of men and women as well as the equality of all things—as all have the starlight/divine spark within them—needs to be reinstated. These and other lost values need to be reinstated throughout this earth. Nature needs to be respected, loved and cared for by humanity. We need to be partners in relationship with nature, not its stewards.
